Frequently Asked Questions: Redos, Dropouts, and Strict Timers

Taking a video interview on your mobile phone can feel like a new experience, and it is completely normal to have questions about how the app handles mistakes, interruptions, or limits. Below are answers to the most common questions candidates ask to help you record your session with confidence.

Can I retake my answer if I make a mistake?

Once you have tapped the "Stop & Next Question" button and proceeded to the next slide, your response is securely uploaded and finalized, meaning you cannot go back or retake that specific question.

However, while you are actively recording a question, some employers may enable a limited number of camera retakes. We highly recommend taking a brief moment to read the question prompt, gather your thoughts, and plan your answer structure before you tap the record button.

What happens if my camera or mic disconnects during a question?

Please do not worry if your camera, microphone, or internet connection drops out in the middle of a recording.

You can simply exit the app, check your device settings or connection, and rejoin your interview session using your original invitation details. Mimo securely saves your previously completed video answers, allowing you to resume recording exactly where you left off, as long as the employer's deadline has not expired.

Is there a time limit for each response?

Yes. To keep the evaluation process fair and structured, there is a maximum time limit of 3:00 minutes for each interview question response.

You can easily keep track of your progress by monitoring the countdown timer located in the top-right corner of your mobile recording screen. We suggest focusing on giving a clear, structured answer using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to make sure you fit all your details into this window.

Can I record my answers in languages other than English or Bahasa Indonesia?

Currently, Mimo only supports recording and auto-transcribing candidate answers in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Our specialized AI models are trained specifically to evaluate and transcribe these two languages with maximum accuracy. We are actively developing support for additional regional and global languages, and we will make them available in future updates to the Mimo app.
